So happy!

The minute I saw this photo of my younger grandaughter, taken by my daughter on her phone, and emailed to me, I knew I had to scrap it! The look of complete happiness on her beautiful little face just epitomises (hmm good word!) what a happy, carefree childhood should be!! I left the large expanse of blue sky in the photo because I like the impression of freedom and space it gives and kept the layout fairly simple and uncluttered. The gorgeous papers are My Minds Eye -Follow your heart, torn, inked around the edges with added faux stitching.
The kite embellishments are cut from the papers, mounted on chipboard, with twine and ribbon added. Hope it does my lovely girlie justice!

Long weekend

Evening all, hope you had a good day and are enjoying the long weekend! I'm feeling more than a little bit tired after having my 2 gorgeous girlies for a 'sleepover' last night! They were actually as good as gold, and slept all night but they sure are early risers!!! It's very quiet here now they've gone home.....
This card isn't anything like the one I had in mind to make when I started, it just kind of happened!
I'm using it for these challenges: adayfordaisies yellow + polka dots
                                                     papermakeup tent topper
                                                     totallypapercrafts zesty summer colours

1 2 3

Good afternoon! I am enjoying a lovely lazy Saturday - no work today! Spent most of the morning reading, finished a really good book that I didn't want to put down (and didn't!). Then I made this card for this weeks challenge over at Less is More - 1-2-3. I stamped the 2 cats 3 times, diecut the 3 circles and added 1 bow. Quick and simple!

It's soooo hot!

Pheww! It really is tooo hot! Think we may be in for a storm! I made this card using cool colours and images to try to imagine myself somewhere cooler (it's not working!).  the challenge this week at simplylessismoore is tearing, and this is my entry.  The little beach hut is from Gayles latest disk of
digistamps, and the 'sandunes, sea and sky' are torn vellum.
Off now to sit in a bucket of cold water!

I've been playing...

... with the amazing digi stamps I bought last week after Gayles card class at scrapbooksisters. This card is very much based one we made in class following Gayle's instructions, but using different images. I love the little line of washing and tried to echo this by making tiny little 'elf clothes' to hang from the twine that is supporting the card.

If you would like to see the stunning cards that Gayle made using the images from this disc then just click here or if you would like to see more of Gayles work then click here to visit her blog. I've said it before and I'll say it again -she is one talented lady!
Here is the 2nd card I made using the beach hut digi. I printed onto Kraft and coloured it using pencils (hmm still need more practice! but I quite like the muted, rustic effect that it gives.)

just a quickie!

Just a quick post from me today as it's far too lovely outside to sit indoors! This is my card for this weeks LIM challenge, feathers or fur. The lovely bear cards made by Chrissie and Mandi made me remember this gorgeous little PSX stamp. I bought it from ebay ages ago,it's old and inkstained but it still stamps beautifully and I love it! A little bit of masking and inking and then coloured the bears with promarkers. Getting back to the garden now!

double trouble!

I seem to be making two of everything this week! This gorgeous little boy (yet another Mo Manning digi) is just lovely to colour and I enjoyed it so much I did it again!
I made the cards very simple to keep the focus on on the image. The buttons on the second one were cut using a sizzix die I've had for ages (and forgotten about!) and covered with glossy accent to make them shiny.

Decisions, decisions...

Morning all, hope you're enjoying a lovely restful Sunday. I made a card for this weeks challenge at Less is More, and then I made another card using the same stamps etc. and now I can't decide which one I like best! (Indecisive isn't my middle name but it could have been!) The dragonfly is paper pieced, his little body covered with glossy accent and a few tiny gems added to his wings.
Eeny meeny miny mo... I'll go with this one...I think.......
